A play by Lia Romeo, and performed with The Mutineer Theatre Company. Directed by Luke Goldstein, the play is a darkly-dark comedy, and focuses on the relationships of two sisters. Joanna: with a penchant for afternoon vodka, and Karen: with a chromosomal condition that gives her the appearance of an adolescent when she’s actually thirty-eight years old. Since Karen’s childish look is a turnoff to most normal guys, Joanna decides to find Karen a different kind of man. Using her police officer boyfriend’s contacts, Joanna manages to find just the right guy for a woman who looks like she’s fourteen years old… Jeannie will be joined on stage by Andrew Boyle, Amber Hamilton, Chris McNair.

WE DID IT!!! Everything, Almost has completed principal photography and is now knee deep in post!

Day 1 found us battling freezing temperatures and biting winds up on the high bluff but we endured and captured amazing shots!!!
Day 2 found us in better conditions down on the beach where we worked like crazy and laughed ourselves silly! Our song of the day was Jack Sparrow featuring Michael Bolton! Thank you to The Lonely Island for such an inspiring song which provided endless merriment to our cast and crew!

The footage is beautiful, even in it’s rawest state, thanks to our amazing director Alex O. Gaynor. Working with the highly talented Brahm Gallagher was a treat. Truly a joy to work with!!! A massive thank you to our small but mighty producer – Ms Susane E. Lee. Our tiny but talented crew: Jeremy Rush and Adam Douglass who walked countless miles and braved the elements…including a “bag of ticks” (A brave soul you are Jeremy!)

And last but not least…THANK YOU to all our Kickstarter supporters and our dear friends and family who have showered us with love and support along the way! We could not have done it without you!!! With a lot of heart and a lot of hard work, the Everything, Almost team has captured something truly special!!! We can not wait to share it with you all!!! Updates on post production soon to follow! Again, from the bottom of our hearts… MUCH L♥VE AND THANKS!!!

We had our first full rehearsal yesterday with the cast: Brahm Gallagher & Jeannie Bolét. Director, Alex O. Gaynor, captured a few images while they rehearsed together. The shooting location, wardrobe, makeup, lighting, and craft services were all absent but the essence was still there and it was great to see the characters come to life.

WHAT IS “EVERYTHING, ALMOST?”

“Everything, Almost” is a narrative short film written by Jeannie , directed by Alex O. Gaynor (Wid Winner & the Slipstream) and co-produced by Susane E. Lee. The story was inspired by the feature length screenplay, BEARCAT, that Jeannie wrote a few years ago. Tired of waiting for the men in suits to give the green light, the “EVERYTHING, ALMOST” crew are taking matters into their own hands to give life to this bittersweet story.

A TALE OF EVERYTHING, ALMOST.

Set along the English coastline, “Everything, Almost” is a story about love and letting go of it when it’s only potential is to send you into a downward spiral, despite how much you want it to work.

For the best part of three years, 32 year old Lila has lived apart from Will – her choice… her best friend, her one time side kick and probably the love of her life. His move to New York and success as a writer has only amplified her own stagnancy and inability to embrace what it means to be a grown up.

That is until Will returns home on a brief visit, giving Lila one last chance to prove that she has what it takes to be his girl again…

PROJECT TIMELINE.

We’re in the throes of pre-production and aim to be rolling by the middle of May. We’ll move swiftly onto post production and hope to have a final cut just in time for summer festival submissions.

We’re extremely excited to see this short, bittersweet love story come to life and will keep you updated on it’s development.

A Big One, the brainchild of Jennifer Yuhlee Kim, follows the employees of a post production house. With a deadline looming over them, an egotistical dick-of-a-boss and the mysterious disappearance of a co-worker, the employees try to get through the most absurd night of their lives.

It’s always great to hang with my talented buddies and with Charles and his love, the Canon 7D, making us look pretty stellar, a fantastic day was had by all. I got to channel my inner bad girl (not so difficult, just ask my mother). Not a bad shot at all… but definitely a bad ass gal!

ALASKA 07/05/2010

Jeannie is headed due north on an epic adventure in the last frontier; one that her print agent calls… a job. It’s a working vacation with 24 hours of sunlight and a cast of husky puppies. Bliss does not even describe it! It’s been on the bucket list ever since I was a little girl staying up late watching episodes of Northern Exposure. If I go missing, it’s only because I’ve gone in search of the mythical town of Cicely.

Spiral and Strange Food 07/05/2010

Out of over a thousand entries; “Bearcat,” the screenplay has made it through to the semi-finals of the Write Movies Writing Contest. The screenplay goes something like this (ahem): “Lila sings 70′s glam rock in the key of jazz by night, but by day she’s little more than the left over of a misspent youth. That is until she realizes that she has one last chance at real love with the one that got away but not before coming to terms with an elusive father and her less than perfect life.“ The winners will be announced on May 25 2010. To the good people of the Write Movies Contest: Thanks for reading Bearcat and for seeing the potential beneath all of her craziness and to my friends and loved ones; your support has been immense. Merci beaucoup.

The next literary adventure is well under way and pays homage to the great jewel thief movies of the 1950′s and 60′s. It’s silly, sexy and sparkles like the Florentine . Keep your eyes peeled for sightings of the Florentine and updates on it’s whereabouts.

Fingers and toes crossed that I get to channel my inner steam punk!

The Birth of Bearcat! 10/12/2009

Jeannie has completed her second screenplay today! The belated coming of age tale tells the story of a young woman who finally wakes up to what she wants when she realizes her best friend is getting married. This is for those of us who didn’t figure it out first time round and for the ungrowned-up inside of all of us. Submitted to Creative Screenwriting’s AAA screenwriting, Writemovies.com International screenplay competition, Slamdance, AFF and the London Independent Film Festival.
Jeannie does a 360˚ 09/24/2009

Jeannie’s next role will be as Jordan Locksley in the sci-fi demo “Qualia.” She’ll be playing a brilliant and driven scientist who doesn’t care for words such as “improbable.” Working with the producer’s of The Echo Game and director Jessie Vigil on a new and exciting sci-fi project using 360˚ storytelling!
Shanghai Surprise 09/07/2009

Jeannie booked one of the lead roles in the screen adaptation of the Annie Wang novel, “Peoples Republic of Desire.” It’s the story of four friends trying to find their place in modern Chinese society, having been raised in the West, and their struggles to adapt to a rapidly changing country.
Where is the love? 08/28/2009

In post production is the tentatively named festival piece: “Pourquoi Non Amour.” A short film by director/writer Mathias Fain. The story of two friends separated by the Atlantic, one desperately needing the good advice from the other: to soothe a nervous heart. Half of the film was shot in Paris, the other in Los Angeles. It’s a beautifully shot film that focuses on her character’s inability to listen to her heart and her friends unwillingness to spoon feed the advice that she so wants to hear. “It was, without a doubt, one of the best experiences I’ve had as an actor.” Check back for reel.

The Echo Game 07/12/2009
